I sometimes have to remind myself that eating healthy and exercising are not a race, but a way of life. The times when we feel like it's a race is when we're scrambling to lose weight and get in shape for a vacation, a wedding, a reunion, and other similar events. My goal is, not to have to scramble to lose weight at the last minute for a big event or vacation, but to already be ready to go and always look and feel good. If someone says, let's go to Cabo in two week, I'm ready! So I'm not in a race to finish this at a certain time. I know I will eventually get to my goal and have the rest of my life to live and eat this way. So there's no reason to overwhelm myself. It really helps to think of it in this perspective because it takes a lot of pressure off and you are less likely to quit. It's not a lose as fast as you can and then your done type of thing. Continue to push and challenge yourself and set reasonable goals, but remember it's not a race because this is a life-long way of life, and it's not going anywhere. When the next opportunity calls your name be ready!
